In addition “New Ceremony” has been added to the Daytime Playlist at XFM this week.

Huw played current single “The Chambers & The Valves” last night and before the play he said “Album of The Week time and it’s Dry the River’s debut album Shallow Bed”  before chatting to Pete about making the album.

After the play Huw added “Dry the River, their album is out this week.  It’s their debut, it’s called Shallow Bed.  A very special band, that was The Chambers & The Valves from it.  I’ll play you a track from it tomorrow and Wednesday and Thursday on Zane’s show on Radio 1.”

The first play last night was for “Bible Belt”, after the play Mary Anne commented “That really is absolutely magnificent, Dry the River, the tune is titled Bible Belt and it’s lifted from the album Shallow Bed and it’s our Album of The Week on Music Response.  You can here Peter from the band introducing songs all week on the show.  Dry the River obviously one of XFM’s 12 for 2012 and former Game Changers on this show…”

After the play Fearne commented Good aren’t they?!  Dry the River ‘The Chambers & The Valves’ It’s a nice song for a Monday, really really like that!”  She then went on to read a host of really positive text reactions:

In addition the band did a great interview and two live tracks (“Weights & Measures” & “Shaker Hymns”) on Gordon Smart’s ‘Smart On Sunday’ XFM show on the weekend.

After the band’s interview/live tracks Gordon said “Dry the River that were on just before that, a lot of texts and Tweets coming in about them.  They were absolutely brilliant!  They were talking there that they hadn’t rehearsed much, to come straight in on a Sunday and rattle out vocal harmonies as good as that is pretty impressive…That’s when you see that these guys are true professionals.  There’s none of this nonsense about pre-recording or coming in prepared for something, that’s off the cuff…”

Gordon then plugged the album and single release dates, adding that he’s checked out the album and commented “Animal Skins is absolutely brilliant. Look out for them, great band!”

After the play Huw added “The Chambers & The Valves is tonight’s Hottest Record In The World by Dry the River whose debut album is out in March, it’s called Shallow Bed…it’s a huge sounding album, I’ve been lucky enough to have a sneak preview…”  Huw then spoke to Scott on the phone and they chatted about recording the album, playing live and being in the BBC Sound Poll for 2012.

Guy said “Dry the River, this is called ‘Weights & Measures”.  Some real impact, some amazing singing here, I love it!”
